The CDC and this application extends the reach of corporate intranets and the Web to handheld devices, including products like the Palm V handheld based on the Palm OS(R) platform.

Comverge has alliances with leading communications companies such as Verizon and AT&T. The wireless connection to the CDC allows utilities to get on-line immediately with interval usage information without the time or expenses associated with traditional telephone based connections to meters. Comverge makes versions of the CDC that are compatible with electronic or pulse output meters.
