GoAmerica and Metricom Team to Offer High-Speed Ricochet Mobile Access to Corporate Customers

GoAmerica to Add Flat Rate 128 kbps Access to Suite of Mobile Solutions

GoAmerica, Inc. (NASDAQ: GOAM), a leading nationwide wireless data and Internet services provider, and Metricom, Inc. (NASDAQ: MCOM), a leading high-speed mobile access company, today announced an agreement to offer Ricochet(TM) to business customers. GoAmerica customers selecting Ricochet, the fastest mobile access solution on the market today, will gain wireless access to mission-critical corporate data and the Internet at an unprecedented end-user speed of 128 kbps.

GoAmerica will integrate its unique Go.Web(TM) encryption and compression technology with the Ricochet offering to create a "best of breed" solution for enterprises in need of fast and secure wireless access. The combined technologies will offer added layers of encryption and speed, enabling corporations to extend the value of data, such as sales force automation applications and email, by allowing employees to interact when away from the office. With this agreement, GoAmerica subscribers will be able to experience a new level of productivity and flexibility, without compromising performance or reliability.

The two companies will jointly develop marketing programs aimed at introducing Ricochet to corporate customers in major markets across the U.S. GoAmerica will offer the high-speed services at a flat rate through its direct and indirect sales channels as well as through retail outlets including Staples stores.

"Our agreement with Metricom to offer Ricochet enhances GoAmerica's growing suite of mobile enterprise services, allowing corporate customers to choose the best solutions to meet their needs," said Joe Korb, executive vice president and director of GoAmerica. "We are dedicated to enabling our customers to get the information they need, when they need it, and we are thrilled to partner with Metricom to this end."

"GoAmerica and Metricom together will provide corporations what they've been seeking: the ability to enable mobile workforces to stay productive wherever business takes them," said John Wernke, senior vice president of marketing and sales at Metricom. "GoAmerica has the right combination of experience, services and support for corporate users, and together we are a great team to put Ricochet in the hands of those who will immediately benefit from always-on performance and mobility at an affordable flat rate."

Currently being deployed in its third generation at raw data rates of 1 Mbps, Metricom's MicroCellular Data Network (MCDN) technology is the foundation for Ricochet, which provides end-user mobile access speeds of 128 kbps. The network is under active deployment in 21 major US markets, and Ricochet at 128 kbps is now commercially available in Atlanta and San Diego. To take advantage of Ricochet, users simply attach a small wireless modem to their laptop; the network detects and routes data packets coming from the laptop into the MCDN network, and then out to partner networks and the Internet.

At a time when it is becoming increasingly essential for businesses to wirelessly enable their employees, GoAmerica has strategically aligned with partners to offer valuable end-to-end business solutions. Recent agreements with Dell, Electronic Data Systems, Oracle and Hewlett-Packard as well as continued enhancements to the Go.Web technology are aimed at securing GoAmerica's position as the wireless ISP of choice for corporate America.
