LinkUp Systems, Signia Corporation Announce Bluetooth Wireless Support for LinkUp Systems L7205 System On Chip

Development System Offers Designers of Internet Appliances and Mobile Devices Low Cost, Low Power Bluetooth Implementation

LinkUp Systems Corp., provider of single-chip ARM processor plus peripherals solutions for Internet and information appliances, and Signia Technologies, a leader in wireless communications solutions, today announced that Bluetooth(TM) support is available for LinkUp's L7205 ARM-based System on Chip (SoC).

The two companies will offer a Bluetooth-enabled LinkUp L7200 System Development Board (L7200SDB) for system designers seeking to create power-managed, cost-efficient Bluetooth wireless functionality in personal digital assistants, smart phones and wireless Internet terminals.

LinkUp Systems, a member of the ARM Partnership, supplies the L7200 processor plus peripherals family designed for creating Internet appliances such as Pocket PCs, wireless Internet terminals, smart cellular phones and other embedded products. LinkUp's L7205 processor plus peripherals includes an ARM720T(TM) processor core, an integrated digital signal processor (DSP), and many key peripherals such as Universal Serial Bus and Bluetooth wireless compatibility, LCD controllers, SDRAM controllers, FLASH memory, smart card and Multimedia card interfaces, a DMA controller and several serial interfaces, all on a single chip.

Signia Technologies supplies Bluetooth core modules and application software to the growing wireless communications market. Signia has demonstrated 100 meter Bluetooth functionality in notebooks, Internet access points and PCMCIA cards.
