Locate Networks and Metrocall Partner to Deliver Nationwide High Precision, Enterprise and Consumer Mobile Location Services

Agreement Enables Advanced Location Products and Services Using SnapTrack's Wireless Assisted GPS and ReFLEX to Reach End-Users

Locate Networks, Inc., a Kirkland, Washington company providing wireless location-based services and portable devices that help track valuable assets and loved ones, and Metrocall, Inc. (NASDAQ: MCLL), one of the nation's largest wireless data and messaging companies, today announced a strategic partnership that will result in reliable, location-based products and services.

These highly accurate, person-portable location products will be available nationwide during the second quarter of 2001.

Locate Networks will provide an end-to-end location solution utilizing the SnapTrack's patented Wireless Assisted GPS(TM) (Global Positioning System) technology and the ReFLEX data protocol.

Metrocall will integrate the location service and location-enabled devices with its nationwide ReFLEX networking capabilities to offer a suite of products and services to its end-user customers.

"We're very excited to be able to partner with Metrocall to provide our location services," says Michael Crowson, CEO and co-founder of Locate Networks. "This Memorandum of Understanding is a significant milestone for our company as it helps to further validate the industry enthusiasm and commercial viability of our location-enabled technology and services. Cementing our relationship with Metrocall is an extremely positive development on the road to product and service launch."

Metrocall provides products and services to over six million business and individual subscribers. The company has 15,000 points of distribution across the country including 120 Metrocall stores, 670 AT&T stores and kiosks, 1,600 direct sales staff and thousands of third-party retail locations.

The extensive sales force network and nationwide coverage solutions of Metrocall paired with Locate Networks' high precision location services promises tremendous sales and marketing potential for both parties.

"With Metrocall's in-place sales force and extensive distribution channels, and its large subscriber base, these services can be introduced to the highly mobile marketplace quickly," said William L. Collins III, Metrocall's chairman, president and CEO. "Together we anticipate a successful service that will positively affect subscribers' bottom line through asset tracking and monitoring. The location of high-value commodities such as shipping containers, railroad freight and automobiles susceptible to theft, can all be determined through this unique service."

Earlier this month Locate Networks announced its successful integration of SnapTrack's Wireless Assisted GPS(TM) technology with a ReFLEX two-way wireless communication device.

This breakthrough provides the ability for wireless consumers to tap high precision location information for emergency, personal safety purposes, or for a host of new value-added location-based services such as asset tracking, logistics and fleet management, via the Internet or a wireless device.

ReFLEX networks are wireless data networks that allow for two-way interactive messaging between wireless devices. Unlike other wireless networks, ReFLEX networks have broad nationwide coverage and superior in-building penetration allowing for ReFLEX-based devices to have long battery life and ensuring that subscribers will receive their messages in almost any location, including indoors and in urban canyons.
