ObjectFX Corporation Announces Wireless Location-Commerce Services

Open Systems Platform Provides New Location-Based Services For Phones, WAP-Enabled Phones, and All Popular Handheld Devices

ObjectFX Corporation, a leading provider of Web-based visualization software - software that turns dynamic data into interactive views or maps via the Internet, today announced support for location commerce (L-Commerce) services for all types of mobile wireless devices. The services include access to map viewing, point-to-point routing, point of interest searches, detailed weather information, back-end corporate information sources and more. Customers such as telecommunications companies, wireless portal companies, equipment manufacturers, software vendors, software integrators, and corporate IT organizations can easily incorporate one or more of these location services into their own wireless products, online services, or internal applications.

"This advancement will dramatically impact how our clients' customers can access and share information. In the past, getting location-based information, such as maps or directions over the Internet required a fast network connection and a fairly powerful desktop or laptop computer," said John Peterson, Founder and Vice President of Emerging Markets for ObjectFX. "Our SpatialFX platform enables companies to deliver maps and powerful visual data to mobile or handheld devices, so users can get information anytime, anywhere. In today's `always connected' world, our ability to offer all forms of location-based services on everything from ordinary to WAP-enabled phones to PDAs and a wide variety of wireless devices will be important to companies that want to offer these services to their customers."

ObjectFX's L-Commerce capabilities will become integral parts of applications such as consumer travel services, wireless portals, voice-driven location services, location-based e-coupons for retailers, as well as more traditional applications such as wireless transportation management and asset tracking. The services are also designed for use within the rapidly growing telematics market for in-car computers.

Alliances

ObjectFX is building alliances with premier content providers to deepen the information it offers to its L-Commerce services customers. Most recently, the company announced an alliance with Digital Cyclone Inc., a premier provider of weather information that provides accurate, fine-grained weather service at the neighborhood level. Paul Douglas, founder and CEO of Digital Cyclone said, "The combination of our highly localized weather models with ObjectFX's open display and deployment architecture provides tremendous benefits to anyone who has to travel. That's why we are so pleased to partner with ObjectFX. It has the technology to bring these services to the wireless market now, and it shares our vision of the importance of location-based content."
