Rixxo, represented in Germany through Rixxo AG (Germany), will offer
SMS-based mobile auctions and mobile promotions to all mobile owners in Germany
and Switzerland as of October 1st, 2000. Microsoft MSN is exclusively
integrating Rixxo as its new, mobile auction platform in the MSN service, thus
completing traditional internet-based auction services with a mobile solution.
Through a state-of-the-art technological platform co-developed by UK-based
Telecom Solutions Company Logica, Rixxo will enable for the first time
all mobile owners to benefit from mobile commerce, irrespective of the brand of
the mobile, of the operator contract and without any handset configuration. In
addition to Microsoft MSN, Rixxo
has already entered in strategic partnerships with Hewlett Packard (HP), Ericsson
and Logica.
