SAP and Compaq Forge Strategic Alliance For the mySAP.com Workplace for Mobile Users

SAP to Roll Out Mobile Workplace Internally on Compaq iPAQ Devices

Today at the Microsoft Enterprise 2000 Launch, SAP AG (NYSE:SAP) announced a strategic alliance with Compaq Computer Corp. (NYSE:CPQ) to extend business applications such as mySAP.com(TM) e-business and services to mobile workers around the world.

As part of the agreement, SAP is engaging in an internal deployment of the mySAP.com Workplace(TM) on wireless-enabled Compaq iPAQ(TM) Pocket PC handheld devices powered by the latest version of Microsoft Windows CE to SAP senior management, sales staff and consultants. In addition, Compaq Services will work closely with mySAP.com Workplace implementation projects on Compaq iPAQ devices to ensure speedy success.

The entry point for accessing mySAP.com functionality on a number of handheld devices, the mySAP.com Workplace for mobile users provides users with the ability to access mySAP.com functionality and connect to non-SAP applications as well as maintain personal information such as calendars and e-mail, leveraging the global development strengths of SAP to suit the needs of users around the globe. The Mobile Workplace provides dynamic synchronized access enabled by the mySAP.com Internet-Business Framework(TM), an open platform that supports numerous technologies such as radio frequency, HTML, WML and XML.
