Secure Computing Offers Authentication for Corporate Access in the Ericsson R380 Smartphone

Integrates Secure Computing's SafeWord Authentication Technology

Secure Computing (Nasdaq:SCUR) and Ericsson today announced that the Ericsson R380 smartphone is available on GSM markets with Secure Computing's SafeWord(TM) authentication token. Now, SafeWord users can use the R380 smartphone to authenticate to networks and applications protected by SafeWord.

Secure Computing's SafeWord(TM) AAA product provides strong Authentication combined with Authorized access to Web-based extranets and e-business applications -- and Accounts for user activities in these systems. The Ericsson R380 uses SafeWord authentication technology that was first licensed from Secure Computing in October, 1998. SafeWord -- R380-based authentication uses dynamic one-time password technology embedded onto the Symbian EPOC operating system. This provides strong, two-factor authentication. The user enters a PIN into the R380 smartphone and the SafeWord software generates a unique, one-time password providing secure access to corporate extranets and applications.
