TTI's PocketServer Now Available for Java Card

PocketServer Technology Expanded to Accommodate Growing Markets

TTI, a leading provider of smart card application software, Thursday announced the latest release of PocketServer(TM), its smart card personal productivity and e-commerce suite.

With release 1.1 PocketServer now includes Java Card and Open Platform, making PocketServer accessible to more financial institution card programs, and demonstrating TTI's commitment to providing leading edge software products and services.

One of the first applications written for the Windows for Smart Cards operating system, PocketServer now also runs on Gemplus MPCOS, OTI SCOS 5, CardLogix MOST, GemXpresso Lite and Schlumberger CyberFlex. PocketServer 1.1 comes with enhanced versions of the time saving applications originally introduced in release 1.0, including greater integration with Microsoft Outlook and Internet Explorer.

Release 1.1 also provides card platform independence, and enhanced user interface making it even easier for cardholders to use the time saving features. PocketServer 1.0 cards will be automatically updated when used with the new version PC-based client application.

In the coming months a majority of the bank issued smart cards will be Java Card/Open Platform based.

"PocketServer adds a level of functionality to smart cards that makes it appealing to a wide range of industries. Bringing it to the Java Card/OP platform will give card issuers an application their customers can appreciate today," said Bill Hussey, chief executive officer, TTI.

"Card issuers are enthused since PocketServer is a convenient application that is ready to use out of the box without added infrastructure."

PocketServer requires PC/SC compliant smart card readers. It is compatible with Windows 2000, Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 95/98 and supports Internet Explorer 5.0 or later. PocketServer cards, software and three different smart card readers are available for sale at www.pocketserver.com.
