Vettro Selected to Accelerate Development of Vindigo's First Internet-Ready Mobile Phone Application

Vindigo's New Technology Previewed at DEMOmobile Last Week in Pasadena, Calif.

Vettro (www.vettro.com), a wireless solutions company that empowers companies to realize their wireless ambitions, announced today that it is assisting Vindigo, the leading developer of personal navigation applications for handheld devices, with the development of its first Internet-ready phone application. Vettro is working closely with Vindigo's product development and engineering teams to accelerate the design and implementation process. The new application was previewed at DEMOmobile 2000, September 6-8, in Pasadena, California.

"Our companies share a similar working philosophy of focusing on the consumer experience," said Jason Devitt, CEO of Vindigo. "Vettro's team of experts have assisted us throughout this project, from designing technical architecture to software development and device-specific testing."

Accessing Vindigo from an Internet-ready mobile phone will be as easy as making a phone call. Vindigo's mobile phone service offers the same timely, local information as its original version for the Palm OS, enabling people to make fast, informed decisions about where to eat, shop and play. The application is optimally designed for a keypad interface and the relatively small screen size of most mobile phones.

"This has been a great opportunity for us to help a leading company like Vindigo build a consumer-focused wireless application," said Rodger Desai, CEO of Vettro. "Our solutions always focus on the end user, and it has been a pleasure to complement another thought leader in this area. In addition, as location-based content increasingly drives transactions, we are excited to aid the implementation of services that easily adapt to the evolution of wireless technology."

The application, which will be compatible with most Internet-ready mobile phones, will be available in Q4 2000. To receive updates on the Beta program, go to www.vindigo.com/phone.
