Vindigo Premiers Personal Navigation Service for Los Angeles at DEMOmobile

Vindigo Continues Rapid Expansion as Los Angeles Service Joins Boston, Chicago, New York, San Francisco and Washington D.C.

Vindigo, the leading developer of personal navigation applications for handheld devices, today announced the Beta release of its mobile entertainment guide for the Los Angeles area, removing the mystery of what possibilities lie beyond each freeway exit. Vindigo Los Angeles provides timely information on restaurants, bars, stores and movies, helping consumers make on the fly entertainment decisions in neighborhoods ranging from Beverly Hills to Santa Monica to Manhattan Beach and Pasadena. The Beta version of Vindigo Los Angeles will be available for downloading beginning Thursday, Sept. 7, from www.vindigo.com.

Vindigo Los Angeles will be featured at the DEMOmobile Conference taking place Sept. 6-8 at the Ritz Carlton Huntington in Pasadena, Calif. Conference attendees can take advantage of Vindigo's Pasadena listings to decide where to eat after the demo stages close and the best bar to celebrate their announcements.

Los Angeles - the city that is home to Wolfgang Puck's Spago, The Brown Derby and Rodeo Drive - offers countless restaurants, bars, clubs, shops and movie theatres, making it the perfect place to use Vindigo. Now Los Angeles residents with Palm OS-based handheld devices can tell Vindigo where they are or where they're going and instantly get reviews, directions and details on the popular places to eat, shop and play. And, if users aren't sure what they are looking for, Vindigo can make suggestions based on where the users are and what they want to do.

Vindigo's ease of use and depth of information have driven its rapid adoption by consumers in its first five cities. Its user base has grown to almost 150,000 registered users in less than five months. Vindigo, named the "Best Wireless Handheld Application" in The Kelsey Group's annual LISA awards, draws its lifestyle information from a number of trusted sources including zagat.com for dining information and restaurant reviews, InShop for shopping information and clubplanet.com for nightlife details.
