America Online Launches New AOL Anywhere Web Site

One-Stop, Customizable Site Offers Members Access to Popular AOL Features Anytime, Any Place

America Online, Inc. (NYSE:AOL), the world's leading interactive services company, today announced the launch of a new AOL Anywhere Web site, a one-stop, fully customizable home page that gives AOL members an easy way to keep the features, news and information they rely on most available throughout the day -- whether they are accessing AOL from any computer, from a wireless phone or other mobile device, from AOLTV, or even calling on their telephone.

When away from their own computer - while at work, or when traveling, AOL members can just go to the AOL Anywhere site at www.aol.com from any computer to check their e-mail, stock portfolio, their Calendar and the day's events, view their Buddy List, and get their own personalized "My AOL" online page with news and information they rely on easily and conveniently.

Just as members can get essential AOL features from wherever they are on the Web, the new AOL Anywhere site also enables members to customize the type of information they can receive by calling on the telephone or their Internet-ready wireless phone, using their handheld organizer and other mobile devices.

Barry Schuler, President of AOL Interactive Services, said: "As AOL members have made the service more and more central to their everyday lives, they increasingly want to be able to access convenient features like e-mail, My Calendar, and stock portfolios wherever they are, whenever they want. The AOL Anywhere Web site helps members get the AOL features they love from work, on vacation, or other times when they don't have access to their AOL service, and is yet another benefit that we provide for AOL members."

AOL members can customize the AOL Anywhere site and create their own "My AOL" information page by choosing from such features, functionality and services as:

-- Customized news headlines from such sources as the Associated

Press, Reuters, CNET technology news, and TheStreet.com;

-- Their personal financial portfolio, as well as business news

and market reports from Bloomberg and CBS Marketwatch;

-- Sports scores and updates;

-- Traffic reports, directions and maps from Mapquest;

-- E-mail addresses and contact information in their Address Book

(coming soon);

-- Local movie times and ticket purchase information from AOL

Moviefone;

-- Job listings which match their interests, delivered

automatically through AOL Workplace;

-- A wish list of items from Shop@AOL; and

-- AOL Search, a comprehensive Internet search feature and

directory.

Other available information includes, horoscopes, TV listings from TV Guide, a recipe finder from the Food Channel, and an Election Guide from My Government.

Members can access the site either by clicking the AOL Anywhere button on the toolbar of the new AOL 6.0 service, or on the World Wide Web at www.aol.com.

New Web Site Part of Growing List of "AOL Anywhere" Initiatives

The AOL Anywhere Web site is part of a growing number of new services AOL is offering to give its members the added convenience of accessing the online features they rely on from a variety of devices and locations during the course of their daily activities. Other initiatives include:

-- The new "AOL by Phone" service -- also introduced today along

        with the launch of AOL 6.0 -- that will enable members to
        conveniently check their e-mail and use other popular AOL
        features by calling 1-800-AOL-1234 and using simple spoken
        commands from any telephone;

    -- The first in a series of AOL/Gateway household Internet
        appliances is scheduled to launch later this year to make it
        even easier and more convenient for consumers to take
        advantage of the AOL experience anywhere in their homes. These
        lightweight appliances feature simple touch-screen access to
        the new "Instant AOL" service, a customized version of AOL's
        software that offers AOL Mail and AOL Instant Messenger, as
        well as convenient services like AOL's My Calendar;

    -- AOL Mobile services -- including AOL e-mail, news, stock
        quotes and weather, as well as features and content from
        Digital City, MapQuest and Moviefone -- on AT&T's Digital
        PocketNet and Sprint PCS Internet-ready telephones;

    -- AOL Instant Messenger on the Sprint PCS Wireless Web brings
        the convenience of instant messaging to consumers nationwide
        using Internet-ready Sprint PCS Phones;

    -- Handheld Organizers (PDAs) -- AOL members can enjoy the
        benefits of connected interactivity beyond their computer and
        access AOL e-mail and other features directly from their Palm,
        Windows CE/PocketPC and OmniSky-enabled handheld devices;

    -- The soon-to-be-launched AOL Mobile Communicator product, which
        is designed to bring the power of AOL instant messaging and
        e-mail to two-way wireless messaging devices;

    -- AOLTV, the first interactive television service for mass
        market consumers, enabling people to enhance their television
        viewing by incorporating such popular AOL features as e-mail,
        instant messaging, and chat, by navigating through hundreds of
        television channels more conveniently with an easy-to-use
        programming guide, and by enjoying new online content created
        to accompany their favorite shows; and

        high-speed connection they can automatically take advantage of
        the "AOL PLUS" service, which delivers enhanced, multimedia
        content, including video, audio and games.
