go2 Systems and Motorola to Join Forces in Cross-Platform Offerings

Motorola Inc. (NYSE:MOT) and go2 Systems Inc., originator of go2(R), the first location-based directory and information services provider designed for the Internet and wireless devices, Wednesday announced a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) regarding a multi-year strategic alliance.

The strategic alliance is intended to integrate and leverage the two companies' technologies, platforms and distribution channels to offer go2's content and services over Motorola's products, services and platforms in the voice, WAP and wireless car navigation markets.

"Motorola sees go2 Systems as a premier provider of location-based directory and information solutions with proven products and services that are widely available in virtually all wireless commerce in the United States," said John Steadman, vice president and general manager, Core Solution Centers and Business Development, Motorola's Personal Networks Group.

"We look forward to working with go2 in planning to create innovative, value-added location-based applications and services for wireless service providers and wireless consumers."

The strategic alliance between Motorola and go2 Systems is expected to facilitate working together to advance end-to-end location-based applications and infrastructure solutions for Motorola's wireless service provider customers.

The alliance also plans to include application integration services through Invisix, Motorola's joint venture with Cisco Systems, and to provide for the demonstration of go2 services on advanced networks at select Invisix Centers of Excellence, worldwide.

"Motorola's cross-platform offerings are intended to provide further distribution for go2's products and services," said go2 president and CEO Lee Hancock.

"go2's technology, products and services are advancing the utility, ease of use and relevance of location-based wireless services for our users, retail customers and carriers, advancing our goal of offering comprehensive, compelling location-based solutions. This technology and distribution alliance with Motorola is expected to further enhance the quality and availability of go2."
