GoAmerica and Staples Announce Nationwide Expansion of In-store Wireless Solutions

GoAmerica, Inc. (NASDAQ: GOAM), a leading wireless data and Internet services provider, today announced it has expanded its wireless offering with Staples Inc. (NASDAQ:SPLS), the pioneer of the office superstore industry, to roll out its wireless communications solutions to more than 600 stores nationwide.

The expanded rollout enhances GoAmerica's distribution strategy and points to the success of its retail program, announced earlier this year. The offering targets home-based and small business customers who depend on Staples for the latest technology products and services. The rollout is expected to commence in November and will be completed by December 1.

"This expanded relationship marks the beginning of a new era in wireless solutions," said Joe Korb, executive vice president and director, GoAmerica. "Wireless access to mission-critical data is no longer a theoretical proposition for small businesses. Pure, complete, cost-effective and simple-to-implement solutions from GoAmerica are ready and waiting at Staples. Staples has shown a true leadership in extending technology to its customers, and we are delighted about this rollout."

In addition, GoAmerica will introduce high-speed access in markets where Metricom's Ricochet service is available, enabling customers to experience the flexibility of wireless data access at 128 kps. Currently, Ricochet is available in Atlanta, Baltimore, Dallas, Houston, Manhattan Area, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Diego and the San Francisco Bay Area.

"The successful introduction of GoAmerica's wireless solutions to select markets earlier this year has led the decision to expand this offering in-store and online," said Jonathan Magasanik, senior vice president and general merchandising manager, Staples. "This relationship positions Staples as the retailer of choice for wireless Internet solutions and handheld computing technology."

According to International Data Corporation, in the U.S. alone, the number of wireless device users with access to Internet messaging and information will grow to 61.5 million in 2003.

All wireless product solutions offered at Staples stores will be integrated with GoAmerica's Go.Web(TM) service, enabling users to access corporate data, email and the Internet from their device of choice. The Go.Web technology intelligently compresses and encrypts data, optimizing it for viewing across all major networks, on all major wireless devices. The expanded offering will also be available on Staples.com.

In August, GoAmerica and Staples announced an agreement to sell GoAmerica wireless solutions at more than 100 Staples' stores in major markets, including San Francisco, Boston, New York, Dallas and Orlando.
