iDini and SINA.com Bring Desktop Applications to Chinese Wireless Market

Mobile Desktop Service Goes Beyond Browsing and Offers Wireless Applications

iDini Corporation, a leading wireless applications infrastructure solution provider, and SINA.com, a leading Internet media and services company for Chinese communities worldwide, today announced their agreement to add iDini's Mobile Desktop Service to SINA.com's full array of Internet media services.

The agreement allows iDini access to the emerging Chinese wireless market and offers Sina's mobile professional users a quick and simple solution for managing email and using desktop applications wirelessly.

"Access to desktop applications and content is a prerequisite for the wireless Internet industry to be truly successful", says Iain Gillott, group vice president of worldwide consumer & small business telecom at IDC. "The enterprise user is less interested in weather, stocks and movie reviews. The value for these users is extending their desktop to wherever they are".

"SINA.com is always looking to provide our users with the best online experience by deploying the latest technology such as iDini's Mobile Desktop Service," said Hurst Lin, U.S. General Manager and Vice President of Business Development at SINA.com. "With iDini's Mobile Desktop Service, users can go beyond browsing and access their desktop documents without using a PC. The SINA.com and iDini relationship reflects our continued effort to deliver `SINA Everywhere' through mobile technology."

As part of the SINA Everywhere strategy, SINA already provides wireless Internet content to China Telecom and China Unicom, China's number one and number two telecommunications carriers, respectively, and to China Mobile Communications Corporation, China's largest mobile carrier. In addition, SINA has recently begun to deliver data synchronization transmission services for PDA devices of Hi-Tech Wealth, the largest PDA manufacturing company in China.

iDini's Mobile Desktop Service, launched in May 2000, is the first in the series of wireless application services demonstrated by iDini. The Mobile Desktop Service gives users the ability to store files in a private online folder, and then view, edit, email, or fax these files via their PDA or web-enabled mobile phone. The service includes support for the most popular desktop file types including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HTML, Text, Postcript(R), and PDF. Service providers including wireless operators and ASPs interested in the Mobile Desktop Service can offer it as a bundled or premium service alongside existing voice, data, or other applications.

"We are very excited to partner with a leading, global Internet media company for the Chinese community," said Chris Lin, CEO of iDini Corporation. "Our partnership with SINA.com validates the strength and viability of our Mobile Desktop Service. The agreement also demonstrates the product's adaptability, scalability, and robustness to meet the ever-growing needs of service providers and wireless operators around the world."

The Mobile Desktop Service runs on a turnkey platform consisting of hardware, software and support that allows wireless service operators to rapidly deploy new wireless data services to their customers. The system enables a variety of desktop and server based applications to be delivered to any wireless device, including not only the Mobile Desktop Service, but also a range of future services such as communication, entertainment and enterprise applications. iDini's scalable remote computing technology for handheld devices enables users of WAP or PDA browsers to run all types of software remotely.
