JP Systems Announces SureWave Wireless Platform

JP Systems, a pioneer in the development of wireless enabling technology and services, announced today its robust SureWave(TM) platform that enables enterprises to deploy wireless vertical applications and other wireless solutions quickly to their employees and customers.

SureWave, with end-to-end security provided by Certicom (Nasdaq: CERT & TSE: CIC), allows enterprises to wirelessly enable their legacy data and Web content, so important corporate information is also available on handheld devices.

JP Systems' technology is the first to add this end-to-end security to a Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) browser and server, as well as develop a Palm Query Application (PQA) browser and server that operate on all Palm OS devices such as the Handspring(TM) Visor and in the future, the Nokia and Motorola phone devices.

JP Systems' SureWave Platform

JP Systems' SureWave platform consists of three integrated components to deliver end-to-end security: the protocol gateway, transaction engine and transcoding engine. Designed as scalable modules, the protocol gateway communicates to multiple wireless networks through protocols such as CDPD, CDMA, TDMA, GSM, ARDIS, ReFlex, iDEN and MobiTex. The JP Systems' transaction engine delivers secure features and functionality including notification/broadcasting, synchronization, compression, caching, security/encryption, personalization, subscriber management and an advertising engine. JP Systems' transcoding engine, the first to support PQA, also supports WAP, HTML 4.0 and XML. The SureWave platform enables the wireless adaptation of content for mail, information and enterprise applications.

Depending on an enterprise's needs, JP Systems distributes its SureWave platform through licensing arrangements or hosts applications as a Mobile Application Service Provider (M-ASP). Omnisky, Glenayre and the New York Stock Exchange license customized JP Systems' software based on the SureWave platform. Wireless applications for companies such as i2 Technologies and ServiceLane.com are hosted on JP Systems' gateway.
