Today, MobileStar Network Corporation announced an exclusive agreement with San Francisco-based One Market Restaurant to provide broadband wireless Internet coverage for business people on the go.
This is the first agreement between MobileStar and an independently owned restaurant. By the end of the year, customers will be able to access their corporate LAN, search the Internet and manage events through the use of MobileStar's QuikLink technology or by using a WLAN card in their laptop or PDA.
"This exciting new partnership between MobileStar and One Market Restaurant serves as the catalyst for expansion into a new market heavily frequented by mobile professionals. Our QuikLink technology will enable corporate customers to access their company Intranets or the Internet at near T-1 speeds, without any of the hassles associated with a traditional wired connection," said W. Strategically located in the heart of San Francisco's financial district, One Market Restaurant caters to business professionals and specializes in corporate meetings. One Market Restaurant's dining room often includes business people displaying a combination of cell phones, PDAs and laptops. In addition, the restaurant hosts a variety of corporate meetings with various corporate customers. The wireless services provided by MobileStar will allow these corporate customers to get online at speeds up to 50 times faster than with a traditional dial-up connection.
"In the past, we have installed temporary lines to accommodate the needs of our corporate customers," said Quinn McKenna, Director of Operations for One Market Restaurant. "MobileStar's QuikLink service will provide One Market with a much more efficient and profitable way to manage these events."
