OmniSky Launches Public Beta Program for Wireless Corporate E-mail Solution

Future Versions of OmniSky Wireless Internet and E-mail Service to Provide Support for Accessing E-mail from Corporate Environments

OmniSky Corporation (Nasdaq:OMNY), a leading provider of branded wireless Internet and e-mail services for users of handheld devices, today announced the launch of the OmniSky Corporate E-mail Beta Program, which will test the Company's solution for accessing corporate e-mail using OmniSky's wireless Internet and e-mail service. Beginning in November, a group of pre-qualified OmniSky customers will conduct testing in a real-world setting to ensure the solution is robust and ready for commercial launch. Following the test, the Company plans to offer wireless access to corporate e-mail -- starting with Microsoft Outlook 98 and 2000 programs -- in future enhancements to the OmniSky service.

OmniSky's Corporate E-mail Beta Program is designed to gather and assess feedback from a cross section of OmniSky customers working in various computing environments. At present, OmniSky customers can send and receive e-mail from six of their existing POP3 accounts. The new solution will extend e-mail access to OmniSky customers working in corporate settings who use the popular Microsoft Outlook software suite.

"OmniSky's strategy for building loyalty focuses on listening to our customers, enhancing our service to reflect their needs, and creating a compelling, addictive experience that has the potential to become as essential to everyday life as the telephone," said Barak Berkowitz, OmniSky president. "Wireless access to corporate e-mail is a critical component of conducting business on the go for mobile individuals and we are working diligently to deliver this service to our customers."
