SHARESPAN, INC., LAUNCHES PREMIER OUTSOURCE B2B WIRELESS MESSAGING SERVICE

SHARESPAN ENABLES WEB-BASED ENTERPRISE TO GO WIRELESS

ShareSpan, Inc. (www.ShareSpan.com) today announced the launch of its wireless messaging service enabling companies to communicate with their users' and customers' wireless devices, delivering business-critical and time-sensitive information. ShareSpan becomes a company's first step into wireless by outsourcing the complete process, including managing and acquiring their users' wireless contact information, content and information aggregation and conversion, and scheduled delivery. ShareSpan supports all wireless platforms and devices including WAP (Wireless Application Protocol), SMS (Short Messaging Service), Palm / handhelds, pagers, and cellular phones.

"ShareSpan is focused on messaging, which we believe is the first widely-accepted and commercial platform for wireless," said Howard Schwartz, CEO and Founder of ShareSpan. "Extending customer relationships to wireless devices helps companies expand their reach, increase profitability, and user loyalty. This is a great tool for companies that e-mail their customers-now they have a turnkey mechanism to accomplish this wirelessly. We believe that this is very different from other companies who are solely focused on wireless 'alerts,' such as stock quotes and horoscopes. ShareSpan is focused on business-critical and time-sensitive communications, that are both relevant and personalized."

ShareSpan's revenue model is flexible and dynamic, enabling it to efficiently meet companies' needs. Companies can use ShareSpan for free, with wireless advertising inserted into the messages. Not only is the process free, companies additionally develop a brand new revenue stream by sharing in the wireless advertising revenue. Alternatively, companies can utilize ShareSpan's services in a private-labeled manner, without external advertising, by paying ShareSpan a fee to manage and deliver their wireless messaging requirements.

According to IDC, the Wireless Internet information market will expand to $38 billion by 2003 and there will be 1 billion wireless subscribers by 2002. ShareSpan is initially working with several vertical markets including financial services, online classifieds, recruiting, and clicks and mortar.

ShareSpan recently spun out of Heynetwork.com, Inc., a global Internet technology company focused on building community platforms for the Web and Wireless.
