Touch Technology Joins Visa Smart Partner Program to Offer PocketServer Application to Visa Member Banks

Visa Smart Cards Benefit From TTI Technology

Touch Technology International Inc. (TTI), a leading provider of smart card application software, Monday announced it has joined the Visa Smart Partner Program and will offer its PocketServer smart card personal productivity applications to Visa member banks at specially negotiated prices.

TTI's personal productivity applications embedded into the Visa card will allow individuals to customize the information they use most in their everyday lives. TTI's pre-packaged applications added to the Visa smart card demonstrate a powerful benefit to cardholders, providing security and overall convenience.

TTI has developed extensions for the PocketServer platform that will enhance its use as a companion application for Visa smart cards using the Open Platform and containing the Visa Smart Debit/Credit (VSDC) application.

The new extensions to PocketServer include a link to the Visa Smart Debit/Credit application to display cardholder's credit and debit card account information, and a myBank tab that will be populated by the issuing bank and can include credit, account and financing services. In addition to these extensions the first roll-out of the cards will contain the four standard PocketServer applications:

-- myFavorites stores an editable list of favorite Web site

addresses with applicable user names and passwords. Once a
site is selected a default browser is launched to view the
        site.

-- myShipTo stores cardholder address information which can be
automatically entered at e-commerce Web sites.

-- myWallet stores all information necessary for credit card
        transactions.

-- myContacts stores all personal contact data including phone
        numbers, email and postal addresses.

"TTI is extremely excited about providing PocketServer for Visa Smart Cards. The initial implementation of the PocketServer platform is a foundation for a wide range of additional application options in the future," said Bill Hussey, chief executive officer, TTI.

"We are looking forward to the roll-out of this program in all regions of the world. Visa has the determination and direction needed to develop smart card usage globally."

"TTI has the experience and expertise to assist us in providing our member banks with a valuable and convenient tool that will help to accelerate cardholder usage and acceptance of chip technology," said Debbie Arnold, vice president of Smart Card Migration at Visa International.

"One of the most attractive features of PocketServer is that there is no need for additional infrastructure to support any of its applications."
