EXCELON AND JP SYSTEMS FORM ALLIANCE TO DELIVER B2B APPLICATIONS TO WIRELESS DEVICES

Enables organizations to extend collaborative B2B capabilities to partners, suppliers and customers on mobile devices

eXcelon Corporation (Nasdaq: EXLN), a leading provider of XML-based business-to-business (B2B) infrastructure solutions, and JP Systems, a pioneer in the development of wireless enabling technology and solutions, today announced a strategic alliance aimed at delivering wireless capabilities to B2B trading networks and vertical markets. The alliance, a combination of joint marketing, selling and technology integration, extends B2B commerce to mobile devices enabling organizations, partners, suppliers and customers to collaborate regardless of time or location.

eXcelon and JP Systems are demonstrating their wireless B2B capabilities at TeleManagement World conference in Chicago, November 13-16. The companies are showing how users can participate in B2B commerce from various mobile devices.

"B2B commerce forges tighter bonds between an organization and its many partners, suppliers and customers," said Dan O’Connor, senior vice president of business development at eXcelon Corporation. "By joining forces with a recognized leader in wireless communications, we will be able to extend the highly efficient, collaborative capabilities of our B2B infrastructure solutions to users on the device of their choice – allowing them to interact from anywhere at any time."

"We are excited about working with eXcelon to add wireless capabilities to their superior infrastructure solutions," said Ananth Rao, executive vice president for JP Systems. "The integration of eXcelon’s products and our SureWave platform allows us to rapidly develop and deploy complex wireless applications to the marketplace."

The eXcelon B2B Integration Server features the industry’s first business process collaboration engine, which enables organizations to define and execute shared business processes of all types and complexities across multiple organizations. Business processes can be shared with any partner in the extranet community regardless of their technical infrastructure or which B2B standards they support. By sharing automated business processes over the Internet, eXcelon removes a company’s reliance on inefficient phone, fax and mail transactions, creating a more responsive, efficient and profitable company.

SureWave(TM), JP Systems’ secure platform, is used to develop mobile applications and wirelessly enable existing enterprise, mail and information applications. This robust, scalable platform enables enterprises to deploy wireless solutions quickly. It consists of three integrated components. The protocol gateway communicates to multiple networks through multiple protocols. The transaction engine delivers secure features and functionality including notification, synchronization, compression, security/encryption, personalization, subscriber management and an advertising engine. The transcoding engine supports easy integration of backend applications into SureWave with support for standards such as HTML 4.0, XML, WML (WAP) and CML (PQA). Depending on an enterprise’s needs, JP Systems distributes its SureWave platform through licensing arrangements or hosts applications as a Mobile Application Service Provider (M-ASP). SureWave combined with eXcelon’s B2B Integration Server provides customers with the ability to collaborate wirelessly in a secure environment.
