Information Architects Announces "Point and Click" Connectivity for Multiple Wireless Devices to SmartCode Framework

Empowering Non-programmers to Structure and Deploy Wireless Infrastructure

Information Architects(R) (NASDAQ: IARC), providers of XML-based dynamic content delivery and interchange infrastructure for eCommerce, today announced a graphical user interface (GUI) that will empower non-programmers to structure and deploy the wireless infrastructure needed to seamlessly link cellular phones, PDA's and other wireless devices to the SmartCode(R) Framework.

Businesses using Information Architects' SmartCode Wireless Framework will now be able to quickly and seamlessly link their native content to a wide variety of wireless devices, and virtually eliminate the time consuming development task of customizing and configuring content to a specific wireless platform. Information Architects' "next gen" approach to content delivery and interchange infrastructure bypasses traditional content "repository" solutions by accessing data, in real-time, "where it lives." IDC predicts the number of wireless data device users in the United States will grow to 61.5 million by 2003.

The SmartCode Wireless Framework supports wireless technologies, including Wireless Access Protocol (WAP)(TM) and HDML (Handheld Device Markup Language) devices, as well as any standards-based web browser, and is independent of networking architectures, so it can be used with GSM, CDMA, G3 and future networking technologies. Wireless SmartCode-based G3 applications are currently in beta testing with a consortium of European and American companies.

Information Architects' SmartCode technology, described as "infrastructure for the infrastructure community" by the Gartner Group, unifies existing web architecture inside a framework that reduces hardware, messaging overhead, development effort, and ongoing maintenance by over 50%. The SmartCode Framework utilizes the Resource Description Framework (RDF), recommended by the W3C, as a means of unifying disparate assets, methods, logic, and presentation into a unified framework, which can be re-used, distributed across multiple machines, and maintained with non-programmer-level personnel.
