ING Barings and Air2Web to Create and Deploy Applications for Digital Cellular Handsets

ING Barings Monday announced an agreement with Air2Web, a leading mobile Internet platform provider, to jointly develop wireless applications for customers in the United States and Canada.

Under terms of the agreement, the Air2Web Wireless Application Service (WAS) platform will allow ING Barings institutional clients to access account information from wireless devices. ING Barings, with over 9,000 employees, provides an extensive range of financial products and services to corporate and institutional clients worldwide through its network of 89 offices in 49 countries.

Built to support the standards for both web and wireless carriers, Air2Web technology incorporates industry-accepted security functionality and protocol support, thereby ensuring platform independence, location independence, and ease of integration with other applications and solutions.

Air2Web combines a robust API with tools, information, and an online community to help ING Barings define, create, test, and deploy their interactive mobile applications.

The Air2Web platform provides full interactive logic, security capabilities and blended media functionality across one- or two-way SMS phone, WAP-enabled phone, PDA, or pager devices.

Air2Web's blended Media engine supports streaming audio, text-to-speech, and voice recognition. Air2Web also supports any data format, including XML, HTML, flat files, and a variety of audio formats, simplifying integration with enterprise information systems.
