Luxxon Conducts First U.S. Demonstration of Streaming Digital Video Over a Live GPRS Network in Ericsson's Developers' Pavilion At Comdex

Luxxon Corporation, an innovative leader in universal visual communications(TM) and streaming media, is showcasing a live demonstration of streaming digital video to mobile devices over a live GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) network in Ericsson's Partner Pavilion (Booth No. LN112) at Comdex in Las Vegas. Visitors to Comdex can witness live streaming video, captured by standard consumer camcorders at locations around the convention center, being played on a variety of mobile PDA devices.

Ericsson's R520 GPRS Mobile Phone serves as the mobile data port for the PDAs, while Ericsson's GPRS base station equipment provides the high-speed, always-on mobile data network for delivering the streaming content. Luxxon's Mediator(TM) enables the content delivery by adapting content in real time to meet the immediate and specific requirements of the mobile data network.

"This GPRS demonstration at Comdex firmly establishes Luxxon's leadership in wireless streaming and mobile visual communications technology," said Dave Singhal, president and CEO of Luxxon. "Furthermore, it signals the beginning of a whole new paradigm where high-speed, always-on, packet-switched mobile data communications technology provides the foundation for entirely new multimedia applications."

In addition to streaming live video over a GPRS network, other mobile multimedia applications that employ archived content will also be presented. Comdex attendees can visit Ericsson's primary booth (Booth No. L3041), its Partner Pavilion (Booth No. LN112), or its Solutions Trailer, located directly across the street from the Las Vegas Convention Center, to witness any of these demonstrations. Luxxon is part of the Ericsson Partner Pavilion and will be presenting further Mediator capabilities in addition to its GPRS demonstration.

Luxxon Corporation is a member of Ericsson's business alliance program, a strategic initiative to drive the growth of the mobile Internet through collaboration with content and applications providers. Ericsson offers developers access to a broad range of mobile Internet resources, including business and technical information, assistance with business development and marketing, and access to local test centers where developers can test and optimize their applications, receive further training or network with others in the mobile Internet field.

As an alliance member, Luxxon will have access to the many mobile Internet technologies that Ericsson utilizes, including WAP, Bluetooth, Mobile e-Commerce, Location and positioning, GSM, TDMA and CDMA networks, and the Symbian/EPOC operating system.
