MobileQ Partners with VeriSign to Enable Secure Transactions for Wireless Subscribers

MobileQ, Inc., a developer of enterprise server software to mobilize business applications, today announced a partnership with VeriSign, Inc. (Nasdaq: VRSN) to provide secure transaction applications for wireless consumers.

MobileQ is the newest partner of VeriSign's Wireless Developer Program, which will deliver a range of secure wireless transaction services, ranging from authentication services to secure payment services, using VeriSign's Wireless Trust Services platform.

MobileQ provides server software, XMLEdge(TM), that enables companies to deliver business applications to any mobile device, including PDA's and mobile phones, in a manner that is consistent, easy to manipulate, and optimized for the features and functionality of each device. Based upon the open standards of XML, which affords a high degree of flexibility in accessing and presenting data, XMLEdge(TM) easily mobilizes any standard or custom line of business application, including messaging, personal information management, customer relationship management and dispatch.

MobileQ's XMLEdge(TM) software is integrated with VeriSign's Wireless Trust Services Platform enabling wireless users to verify the identity of e-business sites, and for e-business sites to authenticate the identity of the wireless user. The integration of the companies' products means a higher degree of protection for confidential information such as online forms and financial data from interception and hacking. This is accomplished through the use of public key infrastructure (PKI) and digital certificate technologies.

"Security is one of the key concerns businesses and consumers have when it comes to wireless e-business, said Vish Canaran, CEO of MobileQ "We're very excited about partnering with VeriSign to develop solutions that will give wireless users peace of mind about transacting business on mobile devices."

"As more and more users conduct mobile commerce, the need for innovative wireless applications is imperative," said Paul Healy, senior director of Global Wireless Services for VeriSign. "Integrating VeriSign's proven experience in developing trust services for the Internet with MobileQ's XMLEdge(TM) software will enable us to offer users the newest technology for secure m-commerce transactions."
