OmniSky and DoubleClick to Pioneer Wireless Internet Advertising

Strategic Relationship Forged for Wireless Ad Sales and Delivery

OmniSky Corporation (Nasdaq:OMNY), the award-winning provider of branded wireless Internet and e-mail services for users of handheld devices, and DoubleClick Inc. (Nasdaq:DCLK), the leading global Internet advertising solutions company, today announced that the two companies will be among the wireless industry's advertising pioneers, beginning with a limited trial on the OmniSky wireless service in December. The trial is part of a larger initiative to develop a wireless advertising model compelling to users, content providers and advertisers.

The wireless services industry faces unique challenges when including ads in Internet content delivered on handheld devices, such as smaller screen sizes and lower data-delivery speeds. OmniSky and DoubleClick are working with wireless users to develop and test innovative and compelling advertising solutions that remain consistent with the rich user experience of the OmniSky service and are relevant and valuable to users. In addition, the two companies are working as board members of the Wireless Advertising Association to develop creative, delivery and measurement standards that benefit the entire wireless industry.

As part of the wireless advertising initiative, OmniSky is tapping DoubleClick's considerable Internet-advertising expertise. OmniSky will leverage DoubleClick's world-class sales force for exclusive ad sales representation and DoubleClick's leading ad serving technology for delivery, measurement and reporting services. In addition, DoubleClick will work with OmniSky to offer its comprehensive wireless advertising solutions to OmniSky's rapidly growing list of content partners.

OmniSky and DoubleClick plan to begin the limited advertising trial on the OmniSky service in December. The companies will leverage feedback from the trial in preparation for a full rollout of the advertising initiative on the OmniSky service in the first quarter of 2001. The advertising initiative is expected to provide OmniSky and its content partners with an additional source of revenue.
