wapprofit launch FREE HDML Wireless Web Editor-Emulator

USA and Japanese Wireless Web Publishing Made Easy

A FREE and simple HDML Editor and emulator were released today by wapprofit. HDML is the wireless internet system used 7 Million North American and 4 million Japanese cellular users. The product brings wireless internet development within the grasp of anyone who can use a word processor. It allows the Global Internet and Business Community to develop HDML sites which comply with the standards set down by North American cellular carriers. Users can preview what HDML sites look like and how they can be used. The software is free download from the wapprofit website.

The product is aimed at a basic user and wapprofit will offer an extended product from 8 November that supports iMode, WAP and HDML.

Speaking of the product, Peter Bellew, CEO wapprofit.com said: - "wapprofit believes that HDML is the second most popular Wireless Internet service after iMode and currently is installed on more handsets than WAP. We support all three systems with our tools and if people are serious about serving their wireless content and mCommerce to the North American market they should be developing HDML content. It offers extra functionality that is not available on WAP.

Our strategy is to give the world a simple way to create their own wireless internet content and to rapidly accelerate the acceptance of this technology. Self-publishing is the missing link in the value chain for the consumer and business community to drive HDML, iMode and WAP as popular formats. I believe this is the first HDML authoring software in English other than the phone.com SDK.

The HDML standard has taken a grasp of the North American handset market. Surprisingly, it is also available on almost half of the WAP handsets that are available in Europe. Siemens and Motorola handsets sold in Europe generally handle HDML if used in conjunction with a carrier operating the phone.com gateway.”
