Wireless Knowledge Expands Operations With Opening of European Office

Wireless Knowledge Inc., a Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq:MSFT) and QUALCOMM Inc. (Nasdaq:QCOM) company, Monday announced the opening of its London-based European office.

The new office will be the hub for the company's operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and will allow Wireless Knowledge to extend its offering of comprehensive m-business solutions to its multinational customers with operations in the region.

This signifies the company's fourth major expansion in the past year, following the creation of U.S. regional offices in New York, Atlanta and the Seattle area in May 2000.

"The market in Europe for smart handheld devices (SHDs) is only just starting to mature and offers numerous opportunities for vendors to develop products for consumer and corporate solutions," said Catherine Pennington of IDC.

"We are forecasting a very healthy performance for the SHD space into 2004. This is expected to be particularly true of the personal companion and smart phone segments."

British Telecom and Aventis Pharmaceuticals are among Wireless Knowledge's European customers benefiting from a mobilized work force. The company also provides 7x24 support and has a professional services practice that provides strategic consulting, custom application development and educational training for leveraging wireless technology.

"The opening of our London office is of strategic significance in supporting and growing our global customer base," said Eric V. Schultz, chairman and CEO of Wireless Knowledge. "Our enterprise-grade mobile data access solutions are currently used by more than 45,000 subscribers worldwide. This expansion will help us offer localized solutions and support that meet their needs across the entire enterprise."
