The SpringPort Wireless Data module provides wireless connectivity via GSM, PCS and PDC mobile phones, enabling mobile users to access the Web, check e-mail, send and receive Short Message Service (SMS) messages, and synchronize data anytime, anywhere.
Xircom's SpringPort Wireless Data module snaps into the Visor's Springboard(TM) expansion slot and connects via the most-widely used mobile phones including Ericsson, Nokia and Siemens to provide unlimited wireless Internet access without incurring additional monthly service fees. Coupled with the free integrated software AvantGo(TM) Web browser, MultiMail(TM) by Palm, Inc.(TM) and funSMS(TM) by fun Communications(TM), Visor handheld users are instantly equipped with important information from any location including up-to-the-minute, customized stock quotes, news stories, e-mails and SMS capabilities that allow quick, easy e-mail correspondence.

As the second in a series of SpringPort products, the SpringPort Wireless Data module strengthens Xircom's offerings of innovative connectivity solutions to Handspring Visor handheld users. Additional Xircom SpringPort products slated for introduction will provide wireless access through technologies such as Bluetooth and 802.11b Wireless Ethernet, further simplifying the process of accessing information by providing a wireless connection for the Visor handheld family.
