1-800-TAXICAB and OmniSky Offer Capability to Order Taxis Wirelessly

1-800-TAXICAB, North America's largest telephone-based taxi referral service, and OmniSky Corporation (Nasdaq:OMNY), the award-winning provider of wireless services for handheld devices, today announced the launch of their collaborative real-time wireless application.

Passengers now can order a taxi ride anywhere in the United States, simply by using their handheld device with the OmniSky service, and will receive a real-time confirmation of their order. Together, OmniSky and 1-800-TAXICAB offer a ground transportation solution for wirelessly-enabled handheld devices that puts mobile individuals instantly in touch with a nationwide network of taxis, sedans, airport shuttles, and limousines.

"We're delighted to work with OmniSky to distribute our ordering service to its large user base," said Mark Adkins, CEO of 1-800-TAXICAB. "Now passengers have instantaneous and easy access to a variety of ordering methods: by calling 1-800-TAXICAB, through the web, and now with our wireless application available on OmniSky."

OmniSky subscribers will find the 1-800-TAXICAB application in the Travel channel. Users simply select the 1-800-TAXICAB icon, fill out an easy order form, and tap the "Send" button to place their order. The order is immediately relayed to 1-800-TAXICAB's network of taxi companies across North America. The 1-800-TAXICAB network includes the ground transportation industry's most prominent players, including Coach USA, which is North America's largest taxi concern.

"OmniSky is focused on delivering the real benefits of the Internet, including the broadest choice of content and services for mobile individuals," said Barak Berkowitz, president of OmniSky. "The ability to order a taxi using the OmniSky service is a convenient and time-saving tool that illustrates new types of wireless services that allow you to use the Internet in ways not possible before."
