China-based Intrinsic Technology is Prize Winner at WAP Forum Awards

Personalized WAP Server earns Honorable Mention in "Best Use of a Wireless Consumer Application" category

Shanghai, 5 December 2000 - Intrinsic Technology, the Shanghai-based wireless technology developer, was awarded Honorable Mention at the first official WAP Forum Awards in Seville, Spain in the "Best Use of a Wireless Consumer Application" category. Intrinsic Technology's PWS.CN (Personalized Wap Server for Cellular Networks), was selected runner-up from a field of 12 finalists and over 150 original contestants vying for the WAP Awards.

Intrinsic Technology was the only Chinese company in contention for a prize and the only nominee from Asia to receive a WAP Award.

Wap Forum CEO Scott Goldman presented Intrinsic Technology the award. "We've just finished one of the toughest, but most rewarding jobs we've faced as the leader of the WAP community - selecting just a few applications among hundreds of entries to receive the first-ever WAP Awards," said Mr. Goldman.

The proprietary application, PWS.CN, allows wireless data users to preset customized applications and services without wading through unwanted page connections or links. Intrinsic Technology's PWS.CN is designed to run with IOS.CN (Intrinsic Operating System for Cellular Networks) a technology platform designed to sit above cellular network components and provide an open standard for application and content interface.

"We are proud to have our technology recognized, particularly as it relates to the consumer who will inevitably judge the success of these services," said Intrinsic CEO Jun WU. "In China and the rest of the world, personalization of the user experience is essential to the growth of the wireless internet."
