Versatile Mobile Systems Extends Enterprise Applications With New Wireless Service

Complementary Technologies Create Wireless Solutions for Logistics and Customer Relationship Management

Versatile Mobile Systems (CDNX: VMS.), a leading developer and provider of wireless mobile automation solutions, today announced a suite of wireless enterprise applications known as Mobiquity.

Mobiquity provides businesses with an enterprise system for managing their delivery operations. Mobiquity enhances local fulfillment of products and services with wireless applications for service inventory management, appointment scheduling, job allocation and order fulfillment. Businesses use Mobiquity to ensure that customers receive their product or service at a particular time and place. The Mobiquity technology platform enables the deployment of applications to virtually any device on any network.

Mobiquity delivers business-critical information to the mobile workforce via its fault tolerant, distributed object architecture. Built on the industry standards of XML, Java, and Enterprise Java Beans, the architecture ensures high availability for mission critical operations. Use of XML and Java enables deployment on a variety of mobile computing devices, including WAP Phones, RIM pagers, Palm, Windows CE and Pocket PC devices. Strict adherence to open standards enables rapid integration and extension of CRM, ERP and Supply Chain Management systems.

Marc Austin joins Versatile Mobile Systems as Vice President, Business Development, heading the Mobiquity initiative. Marc's information technology career has focused on developing and marketing enterprise software for electronic commerce. Beginning at Andersen Consulting, Marc developed early Java and Corba applications that highlighted the capabilities of enterprise computing in electronic commerce. Marc then helped establish the enterprise software infrastructure for Internet Shopping Network, a pioneer in electronic commerce, as well as the e-commerce infrastructure for Infoseek and The Walt Disney Company. Mr. Austin earned a BS in Economics from the Wharton School of Business.

"The addition of Mobiquity represents an important step in our strategy to develop and market end-to-end wireless solutions for the automation and management of the mobile workforce," said Larry Oliver, President of Versatile Mobile Systems. "We now offer more extensive delivery solutions for products and services. Our complementary portfolio of technologies will continue to drive revenue growth as we provide our customers with innovative solutions that solve logistics and customer relationship management problems."

Adds Marc Austin, "We now have the opportunity to integrate our technology with a robust client that provides synchronous and asynchronous data transfer with location identification from the existing Global Positioning System network. This technology enables us to provide location-based features and continuous application service while our competitors wait for carriers to upgrade their networks with sufficient bandwidth, coverage and location identification services necessary for true enterprise applications. In addition, Versatile's relationships with AT&T Wireless, Bell South, Symbol Technologies and Descartes Systems Group will help us provide end-to-end solutions for our customers."
