Aether Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: AETH), a leading provider of wireless data products and services announced today that E*TRADE Group, Inc (Nasdaq: EGRP) has selected Aether to distribute and provide a real-time quotes and news application for E*TRADE's mobile financial services for the market-leading BlackBerry(TM)by Aether wireless email solution. With more than 3 million online users, E*TRADE is a global leader in online personal financial services.
Under the terms of the agreement, Aether will offer E*TRADE customers an integrated wireless data package - including application server and support hosting, customer support and 24-hour network operations support. Aether will also provide real-time quotes and news components, as well as third-party hardware and software - to provide access to E*TRADE's complete range of mobile financial services across both brokerage and banking.
These wireless services will launch with BlackBerry by Aether. BlackBerry is an award-winning wireless email solution developed by Research In Motion Limited (Nasdaq: RIMM). The devices will also include E*TRADE's existing top-rated wireless application.

As part of the agreement, Aether also will participate in a broad range of joint marketing and advertising programs, including the opening of E*TRADE Center, a retail financial services outlet opening at 540 Madison Avenue in New York City this year. Aether will display a full range of E*TRADE wireless financial services products, and Aether representatives will be available at the Center to provide information and technical support to customers. At E*TRADE Center, customers will be able to open an account and obtain a fully operational wireless device on the spot with immediate wireless access to E*TRADE services via E*TRADE's top-rated(1) WML application.
