FitSync Corporation, a developer of health and fitness applications for mobile devices announced today the introduction of FitSync(R), a patented mobile device application and platform for the fitness market.
Jointly developed with Aether Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:AETH), a leading provider of wireless data products and services, the FitSync application utilizes Aether's award winning ScoutSync(TM) software to deliver a fully integrated Web and Palm(TM)-based application, that helps individuals, personal trainers, and health clubs record and manage their fitness programs.
Available in both personal and private branded professional versions, FitSync replaces the paper tracking methods used to record fitness training with a Palm-based system featuring touch screen data entry, messaging, web-based data analysis, and integration with a full featured web application.
"Fitness experts and personal trainers all emphasize the importance of tracking your progress," said Paul Wittrock, president and founder of FitSync. "We've replaced the clipboard with a handheld system that's easy to use and lets the user manage their exercise program through a Palm handheld or the web."
The professional version of FitSync provides a patented mobile gateway through which health clubs, personal trainers, and web-based fitness portals can deliver products and services to members.
Serving as a mobile application service provider, the solution complements the vast array of consumer and professional web-based fitness portals and health club systems by providing those companies with a patented user-interface, enabling tool, and platform for mobile devices.
"Don't be surprised if the next time you sync your Palm you receive a message from your gym or personal trainer wondering where you've been," added Wittrock. "With FitSync you really have no more excuses for not sticking with that New Year's resolution to work out."
"The FitSync application reinforces that mobile computing applications are a natural progression for any industry seeking the most efficient and effective method for communicating with a customer-base that has become increasingly crunched for time," said Ken Whitehead, Regional Manager of Aether. "Aether is excited about FitSync's ability to change the way fitness professionals assist customers to manage their fitness goals."
