Motorola Selects Vast Solutions as Premier Developer for Wireless Messaging Platform

Agreement Will Enable New Range of Wireless Business Applications Utilizing Vast Viaduct and Motorola's Messaging Server

Vast Solutions, Inc. today announced that it has signed an agreement with Motorola (NYSE:MOT) that will use the developmental and technological strengths of both companies to provide their customers with cross-platform enterprise messaging solutions.

The secure messaging platform couples Motorola's Messaging Server with Vast's Viaduct(TM) wireless business applications middleware. This solution will allow Vast to produce enterprise-based mobile applications that utilize many different wireless devices, including 2-way messaging devices such as Motorola's Timeport(TM) P935 2-way, PDAs, and WAP enabled phones.

"Vast Solutions is excited to form this partnership with Motorola. We deliver wireless business applications that manage our customer's mobile workforce and resources. Better communications with their mobile workforce is a key need expressed by our customers. This agreement will give us additional tools and support from an industry leader to provide our customers with solid 'enterprise quality' wireless messaging products, now and in the future," said Chris Sanders, President and CEO of Vast Solutions.

Motorola's Messaging Server enables personalized mobile messaging applications with a robust, proven server technology that flexibly supports a variety of protocols. Motorola's Messaging Server provides secure, encrypted support for Lotus Notes, Netscape Enterprise Mail, Microsoft Exchange and other IMAP4-based email systems.

"Motorola is establishing this relationship with Vast Solutions to build products and solutions for businesses that will allow their employees and customers to access critical business data and information through a variety of Motorola's wireless devices. Through this partnership, Motorola will expand its reach in the wireless industry by leveraging the application development skills of Vast," said Steven Kincade, Vice President of Sales, Internet Software and Content Group at Motorola.

Vast's recently announced @ware(TM) wireless corporate e-mail product combines Vast's Viaduct technology with Motorola's Messaging Server. @ware leverages Motorola's Messaging Server to enable and support messaging applications that utilize multiple carriers and devices including most 2-way messaging products as well as WAP-enabled devices. Vast's Viaduct middleware manages wireless network and device dependencies, providing a single, standard interface to the wired world. New wireless devices, network carriers, enterprise extensions and wireless applications can all be easily integrated into a single, powerful wireless solution.
