Sega to Provide Games to Palm Handheld Computers

Sega Continues to Reinforce Mission to Bring Sega Games to a Variety of Internet-Ready Devices

Sega Corporation today announced it would bring its legendary video game content to Palm(TM) handheld computers. Both online and offline video games will be available for Palm Powered(TM) handhelds sometime this year.

This further reinforces Sega's mission to extend its solid line-up of innovative videogames to Internet devices and platforms outside the video game arena.

"Sega will essentially extend the audience of people who play videogames. This is a big deal not only because it offers additional revenue streams for the company, but also because it opens up new doors for the industry," said Peter Moore, president and COO, Sega of America. "We feel Palm handhelds are one of the best vehicles for enjoying Sega games anytime, anywhere."

"Sega games would add an exciting entertainment option for MyPalm(TM) portal wireless users and all Palm handheld users worldwide," said Barry Cottle, chief operating officer, Content and Access, for Palm Inc. "We are delighted that Sega plans to add some of the industry's leading video games to our growing lineup of personal and business content and services for Palm handheld aficionados."
