M2Verticom Launches WirelessMD 5.0 On Palm III, V and VII

WirelessMD accrues the largest distribution of paying customers

M2Verticom Corporation (M2Verticom), a wireless software application developer for mobile devices, today announced the official launch of WirelessMD(TM) 5.0 for use on the full line of Palm(TM) handelds when used in conjunction with the Palm.Net(TM) or OmniSky (NASDAQ: OMNY) wireless communication service.

"We have been very successful at driving the widespread adoption of handheld technology in healthcare by offering a robust solution designed to complement the functionality of the Palm," stated Gary Coltek, chief executive officer of M2Verticom Corporation. "We have accumulated the largest distribution of physicians paying for wireless access to information, which greatly differentiates WirelessMD from other Palm-based medical applications available today. Physicians embrace WirelessMD because they recognize the value of a multi-faceted, lifestyle application and understand the reality of simply getting what you pay for."

M2Verticom's WirelessMD system extends the power of wireless technology to the healthcare industry by employing a suite of software applications that transmit complex medical data over wireless networks and via the Internet. WirelessMD improves inter-physician communications, patient information exchange and decision-making, thereby enhancing patient care and reducing healthcare costs. With WirelessMD 5.0, physicians will also be able to establish a direct link to pharmaceutical manufacturers, initiate wireless prescription refills and access physician directories for seamless patient referrals inside or outside the office or hospital.

In addition to accessing medical and patient information, medical professionals operating WirelessMD on a Palm wireless handheld will be able to access e-mail, contacts, and calendar information. Additionally, OmniSky subscribers will maintain access to all of the OmniSky features - personal POP3 e-mail accounts, instant messaging, a set of optimized content organized into an intuitive portal, access the Internet, and a directory that will save information directly to the contacts application.
