DDH Software Announces Two-Way Synchronization Conduit for HanDBase Database Application

Users of Palm Powered Handhelds Now Have Easier Means of Safeguarding Data

DDH Software, Inc. announces a two-way synchronization conduit for its HanDBase relational database application for Palm Powered(TM) handheld computers.

The new conduit provides Palm(TM) users with safeguards against potential lost data that might occur during the synchronization process between the handheld and desktop PC.

Database applications have become one of the most popular add-ons among users of Palm Powered(TM) handheld computers, especially applications that enable users to create and maintain their files on both desktop and palmtop devices. However, if a user makes changes in the handheld files and then other changes to the desktop files (or visa versa) without synchronizing between changes, the database would only keep the changes at the most recent update. HanDBase's new two-way synchronization conduit compares files for new data entered and creates a merged file with updates from both sides included.

To further ensure the security and integrity of a customer's data, HanDBase will auto-archive the last ten "HotSyncs" made on a database in an archive folder. The auto-archiving is also applied to deleted databases. This feature enables fast and easy database restoration, if needed.

The practicality of this solution enables two people to work on the same database, one in the field using his or her Palm, while back at the office a staff member can be working on the same database using the HanDBase desktop program. Later, when the Palm is "Hot-Synced," the conduit compares the two files and intelligently merges them together.

"The new conduit is a major productivity enhancement add-on for our HanDBase customers wanting the flexibility to manage their databases simultaneously on both handheld and desktop platforms," said David Haupert, president and CEO of DDH Software, Inc.

The two-way synchronization conduit is available as an add-on feature. The conduit retails for $9.99, although registered HanDBase customers can purchase the new conduit for $6.99, a savings of thirty percent. HanDBase retails for $24.99. Both products are available at the company's Web site, www.ddhsoftware.com, or through online retailers such as PalmGear.com or Handango.com.
