Ericsson Enterprise unveils product roadmap to merge the enterprise with the wireless world

Ericsson pioneers the mobile enterprise to bridge the wired and wireless world including the feature-rich PBX, IP WebSwitch and WAP gateways.

Ericsson Enterprise’s product roadmap enables businesses to take the first steps into embracing the entire range of communications solutions. Its innovative products allow users to seamlessly connect between a Personal Area Network (Ericsson mobile devices and Bluetooth), the Local Area Network (IP-enabled PBX systems like the MD110 and Webswitch and Wireless LAN) and the Wide Area Network(WAN).

In addition, the new Mobile Enterprise Communications system, expected out by the end of the year, will be unique because it provides the full MD110 feature-set that Ericsson customers today demand. These features will be available for all end users and phone, whether they are GSM/PCS, 3G, IP or traditional analog or digital phones. An added advantage of re-using the MD110 software and feature-set, is that this enables Ericsson to concentrate its main efforts on providing its customers with new applications for the 3G world, instead of designing already existing PBX services.

IDC reported that by 2004, revenues for LAN-based PBX systems will reach over one billion dollars.
