Ericsson to deliver UMTS radio access network equipment to Amena in Spain

Ericsson has been selected by Amena in Spain to deliver 3G radio access network equipment. The contract is valued at Euro 450 million over five years.

Deliveries are set to begin immediately in support of Amena's rapid roll- out plans to deploy more than 900 base stations before the beginning of August.

Included in the contract in addition to supply and installation of equipment are network planning, support, competence development and other services.

Ericsson is the main supplier of Amena's GSM network and sole supplier of the first phase of Amena's GPRS infrastructure.
