FedEx Selects Vicinity Corp. as Wireless Technology Provider

Vicinity to Provide Mobile Drop-Off Location Information and Driving Directions to FedEx Customers on the Road

FedEx customers on the road will now be able to locate FedEx drop-off location information from most types of Web-enabled cellular phone, PDA or other wireless device, thanks in part to an agreement between Vicinity Corp. (Nasdaq:VCNT), the leading provider of Internet-based marketing infrastructure services, and FedEx Corporate Services Inc. (NYSE:FDX).

As part of a recently announced FedEx Wireless Solutions strategy, Vicinity's Wireless Business Finder(SM) will provide comprehensive location information on thousands of drop-off boxes and brick-and-mortar locations, along with driving directions to those locations. The service is available free-of-charge to all FedEx customers, regardless of wireless carrier.

Wireless Business Finder is intuitive to use: from a mobile phone or wireless device, a user logs onto mobile.fedex.com. The users then can search for the nearest location by entering their zip code or an address. When the nearest location is returned, the user can then receive turn-by-turn driving directions, and scroll through additional nearby locations. The user can also access other important attribute information, including location hours, latest pick-up information and alternative locations. Wireless Business Finder provides value to road business travelers who rely on their mobile phone as an indispensable source of information that follows them anywhere.

"Vicinity's location-based and local content services are ideal for wireless applications allowing people to find the product or service they are looking for anytime, anywhere," said Emerick Woods, president and CEO of Vicinity Corp. "The coupling of the trusted FedEx brand and the location-based services expertise of Vicinity provide a heightened level of customer service for FedEx customers. It's a privilege to work with FedEx to deliver on the wireless promise. FedEx provides an exemplary standard of the quality of customer with whom Vicinity works."

This latest agreement builds on the existing relationship between the two companies in which Vicinity powers fedex.com's drop-off location finder. The adaptability and scalability of Vicinity's application protocol interface (API) provides a seamless user experience, in which the content, flow and information are consistent across multiple platforms. Wireless Business Finder's results are reliable and reflect the most updated information available at fedex.com.

"Today's business person is increasingly mobile, and expect their package delivery experience to provide them with choice, convenience, service and flexibility. FedEx is eager to respond to these challenges," said Laurie A. Tucker, senior vice president, global product marketing, for FedEx. "The drop-off locator component of FedEx's Wireless Solutions gives road warriors a convenient tool to better perform their jobs, reinforcing our core attributes of speed, service, reliability and innovation. The ease-of-use and accuracy of Vicinity's product made the company a natural choice for FedEx."

In a separate announcement, FedEx Monday outlined its comprehensive wireless strategy, which it is expanding in response to growing demand for on-the-go services. The company also announced the availability of wireless tracking services as part of this initiative.
