IntelliWhere Demonstrates Location-Based Services Solutions at the 2001 GITA Annual Conference

IntelliWhere(TM), a division of Intergraph Mapping and GIS Solutions (Nasdaq: INGR), will demonstrate its location-based services (LBS) solutions at the 2001 GITA Annual Conference, March 5-7 in San Diego. GITA attendees can see and learn about the IntelliWhere Genie Solutions, an LBS framework for workforce automation, B2B, and B2C location-based services in booth 1440. Professionals working in utilities and telecommunications companies, systems integrators, and enterprises with mobile workforces and/or mobile customers can benefit from the IntelliWhere Genie solutions.

Launched last December, the IntelliWhere division is a software and solutions infrastructure provider focused specifically on the wireless and LBS industries. IntelliWhere has been active in the LBS global marketplace, working on partnerships with other key industry players in this arena, including a recent strategic alliance with Computer Sciences Corporation (Australia).

Lee Finniear, IntelliWhere's managing director states, "The GITA conference provides an excellent venue for showcasing our IntelliWhere Genie LBS solutions to attendees, especially with the heightened focus in mobile technology applications. As a first time exhibitor, we're very excited about sharing new innovations and groundbreaking solutions that will impact how infrastructure-focused organizations gain maximum benefit from pervasive mobile computing. IntelliWhere Genie allows workforces to make smart decisions in the field using real-time, location-sensitive information from corporate systems."

Intelligence about where you are

IntelliWhere Genie enables customers to provide real-time, location-based services and content using an architecture that builds on an impressive pedigree of Intergraph's GeoMedia(R) technology to deliver device and data format independent solutions. IntelliWhere's Genie solutions are open, scalable, and proven in large-scale deployed applications.

GITA attendees will find the IntelliWhere Genie solutions ideal for infrastructure-focused organizations that use geospatial asset and workforce information to meet operational and business goals. The solutions let users deliver and receive intelligent information that is related to a particular location, such as current location, location destination, or complex location analysis.

For example, a water company requires fast, real-time access to sewer, power, and water supply maps, plans, and photographic images for its complete infrastructure in a service region. The service must provide access to the dispatch center and allow for "live" database updates when work is being done in the field. The access mechanism must be a small, reliable device such as a data and graphics capable phone or a PDA. IntelliWhere's Genie solutions combine wireless messaging, mobile Internet, and full Web-based technologies with location-based services to provide a solution environment to best meet challenges such as this.
