Mobile Computing and Medical Record Solutions on Wide Array of Platforms: Pocket PC, Palm, Web and Wireless Communications for the Mobile Physician

Medical Communication Systems (MCS) is pleased to announce the release of three new mobile healthcare solutions that will enhance healthcare delivery by empowering physicians to utilize a wide array of technologies to simplify the patient management.

Mobile MedData(R), the Comprehensive Patient Information ManagerTM software, is now available in Version 3.6 as the first Anywhere Anytime Electronic Medical Records (EMR). The Mobile MedData(R) is scaleable from both the PalmPilot and Pocket PC personal digital assistant (PDA) platforms to Desktop Computers, Enterprise Servers, and Web Servers. This functionality makes the Mobile MedData solution deployable across the continuum of care. Mobile MedData(R) is now available for the Microsoft Pocket PC platform as well as on Color Palm IIIc also!

The World Wide Web provides an excellent platform for converging different technologies by providing easy access to critical data "anywhere anytime". MobilePhysician.net(R) is the web enabled version of Mobile MedData(R), that facilitates wireline and wireless communications among the users of the handheld devices, desktop / notebook computers, mini / mainframe computers, printers, Enterprise Local Area and Wide Area Networks, and cell phones. In addition, we have enabled our solutions with wireless connectivity between mobile handheld devices and the Web based Mobile MedData(R) Server Software. This holds significant promise for mobile physicians and nurses who do not have time to wait for accessing critical patient data at desktop computers through synchronization cradles.

Udayan Mandavia, Chief Executive Officer, stated, "MCS is the only company that has mobile solutions for delivery today." He further added that "...our solutions are founded on open architectures, are evolved by implementing cutting edge development processes, and through a fusion of industry's most experienced Medicine and Technology professionals.

Saleem Desai M.D., Chief Medical Informatics Officer, conceptualized and designed the first patient management system for the Palm OS in 1996 and founded Medical Communication Systems to translate his mobile computing vision into reality.
