Nokia 6310 - with WAP 1.2, GPRS and Bluetooth

Flexible and efficient mobile data solutions

The Nokia 6310 takes wireless connectivity to a whole new level. With GPRS (General Packet Radio Services) you can stay connected to mobile Internet services on-line, and only pay for information sent or received, rather than on connection time. And with HSCSD (High-Speed Circuit Switched Data) you can transmit data at speeds of up to 43.2 kbps which means that constant data transmissions like sending emails and faxes and file downloading is faster.

Enhanced Mobile Internet services

The Nokia 6310 integrates the latest WAP features with support for WAP release 1.2.1. It enables the phone to receive "service message indicators" where a WAP page alert is displayed with a convenient link to a WAP site. This makes push-based mobile services such as stock alerts or continuous newscasts possible. WAP release 1.2.1 also enables the Nokia 6310 to store cookies, much in the same way as cookies are stored in a PC web browser. The Nokia 6310 incorporates WTAI (Wireless Telephony Application Interface) Public Library which enables you to make a phone call from a WAP site. With this application, it is no longer necessary to terminate a WAP session to make a phone call. With vCard support it is possible to automatically save contact information such as a business card listed on a WAP site to the phone's memory. Similarly, vCal support allows you to save a calendar appointment from a WAP site to the phone's calendar.

Bluetooth - 360° of freedom

The Nokia 6310 lets you connect around the corners with its integrated Bluetooth module supporting both data and audio connections. With Bluetooth you can connect wirelessly to a compatible PC or other Bluetooth-enabled device up to ten meters away. You don't need a direct line of sight to make the connection with your phone and PC - you can even leave it in your bag while you surf the Internet or check your email using your Nokia 6310 phone as a GSM modem! So now you can really cut the wires that tie you down.

Stay in sync

With the Nokia 6310 you can keep all you important information up-to-date even while on move. With SyncML support, the Nokia 6310 takes the management of personal information to a new level of productivity and ease. SyncML makes remote data synchronization possible, allowing you to stay in sync regardless of your physical location. The phone's calendar and contacts directory can be synchronized remotely with web-based services using SychML over WAP connection. Local synchronization with office applications can be done using the Nokia PC Suite over Bluetooth, infrared or cable.

The power of the word

Ever wanted to make a quick reminder for yourself while on the move? With the voice recording feature of the Nokia 6310 you can do just that - record memos, conversations, or the sound of rain falling on Paris or Singapore, it's entirely up to you. The voice features of the phone also allow you to dial a number by just press one key and saying a name, or activate another of the phone's features - let's say games - by just saying the words 'play Snake II'.
