OmniSky Announces Wireless Service and Modem for New Handspring Visor Edge Handheld Computer

Handspring's Innovative Devices Fuel Mobile Market; OmniSky Positioned to Offer Wireless Service on Growing Handspring Visor Line and Other Popular Devices

OmniSky Corporation (NASDAQ: OMNY), the award-winning provider of branded wireless e-mail and Internet services for users of mobile devices, announced immediate wireless service support and modem availability for the highly anticipated Handspring(TM) Visor Edge(TM) handheld computer unveiled today by Handspring, Inc.

OmniSky's full-featured e-mail and Internet service lets mobile professionals turn downtime into productive time. With Handspring's introduction of the incredibly thin Visor Edge, OmniSky extends its support for the Visor family of handheld computers to include some of the hottest devices on the market -- the Visor(TM) Platinum, Visor(TM) Prism and now the Visor Edge.

"Handspring is a great example of how innovative hardware companies are helping to drive consumer adoption of handheld applications by offering sleek new devices, like the Visor Edge," said Pat McVeigh, OmniSky's president. "OmniSky is pleased to support the growing community of Handspring enthusiasts by offering our service to new Visor Edge handheld owners, as well as current Visor Platinum and Visor Prism users."

The OmniSky service leverages Handspring's innovative Springboard expansion platform with a wireless modem that enables a user to be up and running with the OmniSky service in minutes. Consumers simply purchase an OmniSky wireless modem, run the activation CD on their PC, and snap the modem into the Springboard slot of the Visor Edge, Visor Platinum and Visor Prism handhelds. Combining OmniSky's popular service and wireless modem with a Handspring handheld computer creates a powerful communications tool that can greatly enhance business and personal productivity.

The OmniSky service lets users wirelessly access and manage their own POP3 e-mail, corporate Microsoft Outlook e-mail from behind the firewall, and AOL e-mail.
