Red-M Delivers the Next Stage of Its Seamless Mobility Strategy

Red-M To Preview World's First Home Access Server At CeBIT

Red-M(TM), a pioneering developer of Bluetooth(TM) networking solutions and subsidiary of Madge Networks N.V. (NASDAQ NM: MADGF), announces the next stage of its Seamless Mobility strategy with the preview of the world's first home access server at CeBIT, 22 to 28 March in Hannover, Germany (hall 11, stand EO5).

Seamless Mobility provides the framework for the delivery of third generation mobile data, voice and video services to a wide range of devices over an in-building Bluetooth network. Red-M was the first company to announce Bluetooth networking product solutions on 16 October 2000 with the 3000AS access server and 1000AP access point. These products enable a secure and fully managed Bluetooth network infrastructure to be provided inside offices and public buildings, such as airports, hotels and retail outlets. Together with Red-M's BIAS(TM) (Bluetooth Internet access server) software technology, high value network services can be delivered in these locations to a wide variety of users.

Now, Red-M is extending the reach of Bluetooth networking to the small office and home with a home access server. This new class of product will allow professional workers and traveling executives to gain access to the same network services they are used to in the office while at home over a secure and fully managed local Bluetooth network. For the first time, users will be able to move between their office, a public environment and their home, and seamlessly access their preferred network services from the same Bluetooth enabled devices. This ground-breaking advance in Bluetooth network technology will be previewed at the CeBIT show in Germany.

Jan Ten Sythoff, Senior Analyst at Frost and Sullivan comments, "I'm excited to learn that people will soon have access to mobile information wherever they are, whether they be at home, in the office or working in a public area. Once again Red-M has shown an early lead by outlining its strategy to support the home working mobile professional, by previewing a product that will enable users to access company information over Bluetooth, as easily as if they were connected to their company's network.

Simon Gawne, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, Red-M, adds, "We continue to break new ground with our pioneering product solutions. Our products have already shaped the evolution of the market and earned us the reputation of being a leading Bluetooth innovator. By extending the reach of Bluetooth networking to the home, we will be making the vision of Seamless Mobility between the office, public environment and home a reality. We are delighted to be demonstrating this leading edge technology at the CeBIT 2001, Hannover in Germany."
