SimpleDevices To Demonstrate Networking Platform and Wireless Internet Products with Motorola at CeBIT 2001

SimpleDevices To Preview Platform and Devices at European Conference as Precursor to Company Launch

SimpleDevices, the leading platform for delivering rich content and applications beyond the PC to a new class of high-speed Internet devices, today announced that it will demonstrate its new networking platform along with three of its innovative wireless devices in the Motorola booth at CeBIT 2001. The SimpleDevices platform delivers preference-based content and rich media to a new line of low-cost, thin-client consumer Internet devices using its SimpleServe software and Web portal.

"We're thrilled to join Motorola on the CeBIT show floor to preview our technology to European OEMs and network service providers to complement our growing U.S. market presence," said Lou Hughes, CEO of SimpleDevices. "SimpleDevices' platform makes it easy to move Internet content and connectivity beyond the PC. Our high-speed wireless devices allow users to access Web content and applications, as well as stream rich media from the PC to a variety of thin-client devices."

"Our customers want solutions to help them access data and Web content from devices that are powerful, yet flexible and cost-efficient," said Vincent Izzo, director of home networking for Motorola's Broadband Communications Sector. "SimpleDevices is a leader in delivering new technologies for leveraging the PC and storage gateway to distribute rich digital media and data to a variety of thin-client devices for the home and enterprise markets."

In addition to displaying at CeBIT, SimpleDevices is also preparing for its U.S. launch by promoting a development kit for its SimplePad(TM), which brings high-speed network and data access to existing handheld computing products, such as the Palm V series. The kit is intended for application developers and enterprise IT managers interested in developing applications for or integrating high-speed, wireless LAN-connected Palm(TM) devices. Developers can pre-order a SimplePad Development Kit from SimpleDevices' Web site, www.simpledevices.com.

SimpleDevices' platform provides distribution of content and applications, device and content management capability, and allows simple but useful interactivity at the devices. It includes integration of software in three domains: the Web, on the PC or PC and storage gateway, and at the devices. SimpleDevices' platform was designed to be network-agnostic, with products planned for the entire range of wireless and wired networking protocols depending on the application. The platform is powerful enough for enterprise customers and flexible enough for home users.

New Consumer Internet Devices

SimpleDevices has developed three wireless Internet devices to demonstrate the power and value of its platform. These reference designs showcase the speed, functionality, ease of use and cost benefits of the SimpleDevices platform.

-- SimplePad(TM) turns a PDA into a high-speed, wireless Web pad for the home and business.

-- SimpleFi(TM) bridges the gap between a PC and home stereo.

-- SimpleClock(TM) delivers personalized Web content to the nightstand and beyond.

SimpleDevices' platform and devices will be demonstrated during CeBIT March 22-28, 2001, in Hannover, Germany. The company will be in Motorola's booth, in hall 26, stand E60.
