Audible, Inc. Demonstrates Full Wireless Download of Digital Audio to Mobile Devices At e-Learning 2001

Audible, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADBL) announced today that the company is demonstrating wireless audio downloads and other enterprise digital audio services at the 11th Annual e-Learning Conference and Expo.

The AudibleWireless(TM) solution enables corporations to wirelessly deliver mission-critical audio content to mobile employees and customers.

The e-Learning Convention and Expo will take place April 18-20, 2001 at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. Convention attendees are encouraged to visit the Audible booth (location #644) to experience the complete AudibleWireless(TM) demonstration.

Digital audio for the AudibleWireless platform includes sales updates, proprietary corporate research, product overviews, and management bulletins. Additional content can consist of premium audio titles such as audiobooks and audio versions of leading newspapers and magazines. Audible(R) is the leading provider of Internet-delivered spoken audio (www.audible.com(R)) for computer-based listening or mobile playback on AudibleReady(TM) PC-based portable digital audio players, such as the Pocket PC line of personal digital assistants, other MP3 players, and audio-enabled eBook readers. Audible.com(R) serves more than 50,000 consumers who purchase digital audiobooks and other premium audio content, as monthly memberships, subscriptions or on a per-title basis.

Initial AudibleWireless demonstrations are executed on the Pocket PC platform, which include PDAs manufactured by Casio, Compaq, and Hewlett-Packard. A broad range of consumers, including enterprise customers, is rapidly adopting these portable devices.

"Audible is leveraging our position as the industry-leading source of Internet-delivered spoken audio to build a personalized wireless application that addresses the needs of today's corporations and enterprise workers," said Matthew Fine, senior vice president for enterprise sales at Audible, Inc. "Our goal is to provide a fully functional delivery service using the current speed and bandwidth offered through most wireless networks. Spoken word audio is a great application for wireless since the digital files are highly compressible. A financial firm, for example, can `send an Audible' of its best analysts speaking directly to key mobile staff and customers. Another usage scenario could be a pharmaceutical company sending audio briefings to representatives in the field for just-in-time product updates prior to physician meetings."

Audible will arrange private meetings to evaluate the AudibleWireless demonstration platform for existing and prospective corporate customers.
