Synchrologic and AppForge Inc. today announced a partnership that will allow companies to rapidly extend existing applications to the Palm Powered(TM) platform and easily connect these applications to enterprise servers.
IT managers face several challenges connecting mobile workers to enterprise data. Two of the most difficult challenges are writing applications for handheld devices and connecting and exchanging data with enterprise servers. The combined expertise of Synchrologic, the only comprehensive enterprise mobile and wireless infrastructure software provider, and AppForge, the only provider of a Microsoft(R) Visual Basic(R) development environment for Palm Powered devices, eliminates these challenges. The partnership results in a complete mobile solution, encompassing application development and management; file, software and Web page distribution; mobile systems management and enterprise application synchronization.
"The focus of our partnership is to provide the most powerful development platform for building data-rich enterprise applications for mobile and wireless devices," said Doug Armstrong, chief executive officer at AppForge. "Synchrologic has industry-recognized expertise in powering and supporting enterprise data to mobile devices. With AppForge, Synchrologic's customers will now have a shortcut to mobilizing new or existing Visual Basic applications."
With its current 3.4 release, Synchrologic's iMobile Suite has been enhanced to support AppForge applications on Palm Powered devices. Additionally, both companies will support each other on joint sales calls, training and marketing programs.
John Dancu, president and chief operating officer at Synchrologic said: "This partnership with AppForge allows our customers to leverage their investment in enterprise applications developed with Visual Basic while mobilizing their workforce. AppForge development tools combined with iMobile Suite provides the easiest and most complete way to migrate a company's enterprise applications to handheld devices."
