C I Host Breaks the Communication Barrier with Wireless Website

Clients Can Check Network Status, View Products and Prices, Place Orders and Chat 24-7 From Anywhere Using Their Cell Phone, Pager or Hand-held Computer

Setting the pace for the future, C I Host, has developed a totally wireless website and expanded online chat options that will virtually eliminate downtime and keep its clients ahead of the wave of the growing wireless industry. The products will be unveiled at the Communications Solutions Spring Expo, May 23 to 25 in Washington, D.C.

By connecting to the site from their cell phones or handheld computers or other wireless devices, clients can handle all of their website maintenance, receive technical support, check their email, chat with an accounting representative about billing or order new services, from wherever they may be.

This innovation virtually eliminates downtime, making it possible for a busy executive to keep tabs on the company website from an airport or car, no more waiting to get back to the office.

"This is nothing short of wireless enabling of all our clients," said Christopher Faulkner, President and CEO of C I Host. "Our clients need instant access, 24 hours a day, from where ever they may be, and this will make that possible."

C I Host rolled out the first phase of its wireless website, the network status page, in late April. That was followed on May 10 with a wireless version of the complete website. Since C I Host has long been an industry leader in allowing clients to do practically everything concerned with their site online, this step takes them light years ahead of the competition.

"With this wireless website, a potential client can surf our products and prices, order a web-hosting service and have their login emailed back to their cell phone within 30 seconds," Faulkner said. "Resellers can send an order for a new account and have the entire procedure completed immediately."

C I Host first offered full support for Wireless Application Protocol/Wireless Markup Language (WAP/WML) to all of its clients six months ago, becoming one of the first major web hosting providers to offer this feature as a standard feature at no extra cost to the client. WAP is an open, global specification that lets mobile users with wireless devices access the Internet and check email via handheld computers, cell phones, pagers and other wireless devices. "We have already seen WAP fast becoming the dominant access medium in Asia and Europe," Faulkner said. "Market research indicates that by 2004, more people will be accessing the Internet using wireless devices than personal computers. We wanted our customers to be ready for this evolution."

In a related advance, C I Host has expanded its popular MonsterChat program, which until now has provided technical support and sales functions, to allow clients to chat in real time with an accounting representative about their account, pay bills and view invoices online. This will also be available at the wireless website.

"Overseas companies love the chat rooms because they can reach a live tech support or accounting person any time, even in the middle of our night, without the expense of a long distance call," Faulkner said. "The accounting chat rooms will be completely safe and 100 per cent secure. No one waiting in line to chat will be able to view what you are saying."

C I Host is the fastest-growing leader in e-business solutions and the Web hosting industry. Its growth is surpassing 200 percent a year and it is on track to sign up its 100,000th client by the end of May.

C I Host will be exhibiting in Booth No. 324 at the Washington Convention Center at the Communications Solutions Spring Expo, May 23 to 25 in Washington, D.C.
